In a nutshell: Daily cleaning takes 2 minutes: wipe with a water-free special spray or cleaning wipe in the evening, clean more thoroughly weekly with a brush and cerumen loop, and check filters and domes. Afterwards, dry: rechargeable devices for 45 minutes in the drying box and then in the charging station, battery-powered devices overnight in the drying box. Please do not use water, alcohol, or eyeglass cleaning cloths.
The Evening Routine (daily, 2 minutes)
After removal, wipe both devices: ideally with the water-free auriFIX cleaning spray on a cloth or, when on the go, with individually wrapped cleaning wipes. This removes sweat, skin oil, and cerumen before they penetrate the openings. This is followed by drying: rechargeable devices go into the PerfectDry Lux for 45 minutes and then into the charging station, battery-powered devices with the flap open go into the UV DRY BOX overnight.
The Weekly Routine (5 minutes)
Once a week, take a little more time: With the 3-in-1 cleaning brush, brush the microphone openings and casing, and with the cerumen loop, remove earwax from corners and openings. While doing so, take a look at the cerumen filter (dull sound? Visible residue? Then change it) and the dome or earmold.
What you should not use
No water; the device is not eyeglasses. No alcohol and no aggressive cleaners; they attack the casing and seals. And no eyeglass cleaning cloths: many contain precisely these substances and permanently damage microphones and surfaces. Water-free special care costs little and protects technology worth several thousand euros.
Frequently Asked Questions
Isn't a dry cloth enough? For dust, yes, but not against skin oil and cerumen. The special spray dissolves precisely these residues without damaging the technology.
How do I clean the earmold? Remove it and clean it separately, also removing cerumen from the outer wall, otherwise, it can whistle. The sound tube can be blown through with the drying puffer.
Do I also have to change the dome? Yes, domes are wear parts and should be checked regularly and replaced when worn. More about this in our dome guide.
